Could I persuade any of you guys to print me a few parts I am going to need to repair my 3D printer? It’ll be a week or so before all the parts arrive, so I could pick them on Thursday or at your convenience. The parts: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:707530

It might be possible to do the dewarping on the fly on the Pi; it’s certainly worth checking to see how long it takes per image on there.
To do the same processing he did on his image, you’d just install ImageMagick, download his image, and use the same command line he did:

Oddly, his image quality is far better… have no idea what he might have done differently…
Come to our meetup today at 7pm, to continue to build our shapeoko CNC machine:

Looking pretty good, thanks!
Posted this on reddit a week ago, it’s got about 20,000 hits over the 3-day period, not bad. A map of all the native peoples of North America, started as an open project.
… Reminds me, we need to set up our 2nd maptime. It’s already been over a month.

There is an area in Ames that is currently a parking lot that I’d like to help make into a common area. Unfortunately, despite the huge benefits, people are afraid of losing parking. I want to demonstrate clearly what the situation with parking is in the area. My idea is to set up a few cameras on bicycles that will sit and record a timelapse…[Read more]
